Business Botswana Engages Minister of Child Welfare and Basic Education

The President of Business Botswana, Mr. Neo Nwako led a delegation to meet with the Minister of Child Welfare and Basic Education, Honourable Nono Kgafela-Mokoka. The meeting aimed to strengthen collaboration between the private sector and government to improve Botswana’s business environment and attract investment.
Mr. Nwako congratulated the minister on her appointment and emphasised the need for a conducive environment to drive economic growth. Honourable Minister Kgafela-Mokoka shared her vision of transforming Botswana into an education hub and a global exporter of skilled workers.
Business Botswana's Education Chair, Mr. Golekanye Setume highlighted challenges within the education sector, including delays in teaching permits. The Minister assured continued government-private sector collaboration to address these issues. In closing,
Mr. Nwako stressed the importance of Economic Impact Assessments (EIA) for policies and regulations to ensure they benefit the private sector and contribute to economic growth. Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to working together for the growth of the sector and the broader economy.
