Business Botswana in collaboration with Health Generation donated over 100 ready-made snacks and bread for distribution to evacuation centers and the relief team.

During the handover, Mr. Moleele informed His Worship, Oarabile Motlaleng, Mayor of Gaborone City Council that Business Botswana has established the Private Sector Disaster Response Fund, a private-sector-led initiative aimed at assisting in current disasters and future emergencies. He emphasised that the fund operates under an independent oversight board, ensuring transparency and accountability in expenditure. He also reassured that regular audits would be conducted to maintain public trust.

Receiving the donation, Mayor Motlaleng expressed his gratitude to Business Botswana for its commitment to mobilising private-sector support. He highlighted the urgent need for additional resources and acknowledged the partnership that Business Botswana and its members continue to provide to the government.

He also extended his appreciation to Ms. Kelebogile Mathware, Director at Health Generation, for the generous contribution.

In her remarks, Ms. Mathware stated that Health Generation recognises the importance of responding to calls for support and stands ready to continue pledging to assist those in need.
