Business Botswana Engages Yango on Transport Sector Collaboration

Today, Business Botswana hosted a delegation from Yango, led by Mr. Alick Mponela, Head of Public Policy. The meeting focused on exploring areas of collaboration and addressing key opportunities within the transport sector.
Mr. Mponela outlined Yango’s innovative, technology-driven platform that connects driver-partners with passengers, underscoring its contribution to job creation and economic growth. He further expressed Yango’s commitment to partnering with Business Botswana members to promote compliance and best practices across the industry.
Discussions also touched on operational challenges facing the sector, including the need for a clearer regulatory framework, expedited driver licensing processes, and the resolution of vehicle branding issues that have, at times, led to harassment by other stakeholders.
In his response, Mr. Mpaphi Tsholofelo, Acting BB Acting CEO, thanked the delegation for their willingness to collaborate. He emphasised the importance of bringing all relevant stakeholders to collectively address the challenges and unlock the sector’s full potential.
